ART
HISTORY GRADING:
The
final grade for the course will be calculated as follows:
Examinations
75%
**Class participation/projects
25%
100%
1. There will be
four exams. Grading will be based
on the best
three-out-of-four
exams. There will be no make up exams.
2.
The final grade will be based on the exams, projects and participation. The
class participation and project grade will apply to both the art history grade
and the math grade. Specific details will be given later in class.**
3.
Any out-of-class assignments must be typed or computer generated and submitted
on time at the beginning of class on the date due. No late papers will be
accepted.
4.
Notes from missed lectures are the student's responsibility. Reading assignments
complement but do not necessarily duplicate lectures. Students are encouraged to
use the resources of the library to enhance their familiarity with the material.
5.The
simple completion of an assignment often earns a grade of 2.0 or lower.
More proficient work is required for earning a grade of 4.0 or 3.0.
Examinations
will be given on the following dates:
First exam: April 18th
Second exam: May 7th
Third exam: May 24th
Fourth exam: June 14th The
final exam is scheduled for 12:00 a.m.
There
are no classes on May 22nd and on May 28th.
*Images
of the human body, both clothed and nude, have constituted the subject mater of
art since its beginnings. Students
who are embarrassed or offended by such images should not enroll in this course.
**Various
assignments will be given for the participation/project grade.
Group assignments and individual assignments will demonstrate knowledge
of both art history and math and may include research and/or oral presentations,
group projects and field work. Some
of these assignments merit more consideration towards the final grade; details
will be given in class. The participation grade also includes attendance in
class. Please note: The math grade will also be used for the art history
participation/project grade.
MATH
GRADING:
The
final grade for the Math 155 (2) credits will be calculated as follows:
Attendance 10%
Assignments 20%
Projects
70%
TOTAL
100%
Note:
This grade will also apply to the art history grade as the class
participation and project grade.
1.
You need to be present to be able to follow the progress of the course.
Attendance will be taken every day, and your attendance grade will be
computed by the percent of days attended.
2.
Numerous assignments will be given throughout the quarter. Assignments will consist of assigned readings, research,
fieldwork, in-class work, and homework. No
late papers will be accepted. If
you are absent, it is your responsibility
to find out what was covered in class and if homework was assigned.
No make-up work will be given for activities done during class.
3.
Several group or individual projects will be assigned during the quarter.
Note every project will hold the same weight toward the final grade, but each
project will be assessed in the following manner.
