College-Wide Abilities: Edmonds Community College Quantitative Skills

Graduates receiving ATA and AAS degrees, as well as certificates of 45 credits or more, will be able to

• Use Mathematics to solve problems appropriate to the program or discipline,

• Provide Quantitative support for qualitative information where appropriate, and

• Communicate quantitative information through the use of mathematical notations, graphs, charts, tables, symbols, or standard English

Business Management Degree

Quantitative Skills Outcomes

• Use mathematics to solve typical, everyday quantitative business issues and problems involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals, as well as to solve for unknowns using simple equations with one unknown.

• Ability to read, interpret, and develop quantitative business information using mathematical notations, symbols, and/or standard English. This will include basic statistical expressions such as mean, median, mode, graphs and charts.

• Explain the costs and benefits of simple financial choices encountered both in business and by private consumers.

• Use personal computers and other tools most commonly used by businesses to obtain, store, organize, manipulate, and communicate quantitative information.
