π     To foster college prep writing and mathematics student development by using writing to advance student understanding of mathematics and vice versa 

π     To work with the natural, though veiled, synergy that exists between the two disciplines

π     To create a culture of success that moves students into college level courses

π     To increase critical thinking skills

π     To improve pass rate in MAT0020
