Assessment

Assessment: Rubrics designed to reflect accuracy, clarity, and visual fluency. They follow an initial model and then are student designed.

Article assessment includes creativity, accuracy, effectiveness of presentation – again on a student and faculty rubric assessment.

Leisure, Learning, and Living

·      Where or where are the services? How do they compare with other national trends? What is a trend anyway?

·      What are the myths of elder-care in our country? Example: All elderly are put into nursing homes. Truth: Less than 5% of people over age 65 live outside their own home.

·      What are the needs for elders in our community?

·      Document the percentage of our elders who need some type of assisted living resources.

·      What are the needs of the elders who do not need this support? Create a visual quantitative design to communicate these findings.

·      Document this research by survey and review with the health care and senior citizen information centers, parks and recreation, etc.

Assessment: Community feedback re accuracy and usefulness of the information.
