Brief Description:  We will revise assignments and the associated rubrics to incorporate more quantitative reasoning.  This will help answer the question posed to students “So what…” :

• does this mean?
• are the trends?
• are the concerns?
• are the consequences associated with the data collected?
• are other factors that should be considered?

Outcomes:       We want the students to:

• make sense of the data collected during activities
• use the data collected to address the topics in the activities
• assess the limitations of the method used to collect the numbers.

Explicit correlation between math and non-math content: 

• Biology:  will provide the underlying questions and the data
• Mathematics:  will provide the tools to describe the data, interpret the data and assess limitations.
