Brief Description of Project Course:
A teaching module linking mathematics to consumer financial issues placed in a capstone course for the Office Administration program. The course to be used is OST2501 Office Systems Management (http://www1.fccj.edu/curriculum/credit/outlines/OST2501.doc ).
Outcomes for Students/Project:
- Help students recognize the importance of mathematics in their personal financial decisions.
- Improve decision making skills
- Understand underlying mathematical principles.

How well do students understand the following?
- The effect of compound interest on saving money
- How to calculate the best promotional option on buying a car
- The ultimate cost of credit purchases
- How to calculate percentages without a calculator.
