Statistics Inference Project

This project is a statistical report in which you will apply the concepts and methods of confidence intervals and significance tests to make inferences about a population parameter or the difference between two population parameters. Your report will be graded on statistical accuracy and validity and the clarity, flow and completeness of your report. You may work together with one or two other people. The following should be included:

?        Include discussion of why you chose your subject, what results you expected and why, any shortcomings with your sampling procedure, a summary of your conclusions and their reasonableness.

Grading  Each of the following areas will count 20% of your overall grade.

?           Statement of problem, description of population(s) and parameter(s)

?           Sampling method, data and data summary (graphical and numeric)

?           Significance test

?           Confidence interval

?           Conclusions, including verifying the necessary assumptions for the inference methods used
